The Role

Lumen is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Sr Lead Technical Write to join our GRC & Business Enablement team. In this role, you will create, edit, and maintain policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, and other documentation that supports our compliance, risk management, and regulatory objectives. The Information Security Governance Technical Writer, reporting to the Information Security Governance Manager, will play a key role in developing the processes that underpin our compliance program. Working closely with and learning from experienced team members, this individual will have the opportunity to grow and succeed within a collaborative culture that values respect, support, and shared goals.

The Main Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and format information security compliance-related documents, including policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across IT, legal, risk, and business units to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with organizational templates, style guides, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintaining version control and documentation lifecycle management.
• Review and update existing documents to reflect changes in regulations, standards, or organizational processes.
• Help organize and maintain the document repository for easy access and retrieval.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current on compliance topics and documentation best practices.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing relevant documentation as needed.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing
• 8+ years of experience in technical writing; information security compliance-related documents, including policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures..
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to translate complex technical or regulatory information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with document management systems.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Relevant certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Certified Technical Writer, CPTC Foundation Level I, ITIL 4, CMMC RP, etc.)

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY 
$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 
$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
