What You’ll Do

Samsung SoC R&D Lab in San Diego and San Jose is seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join the team responsible for developing the software for next generation mobile platforms.

The ideal candidate should have passion for writing quality code and will be working on the implementation and validation RRC, RRM and L2 (LTE and NR) for Mobile Phones.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Diego, CA office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

• Design, implement and optimize validation SW for next generation system-on-chip (SoC) platforms.
• Working across different layers of the software stack, the ideal candidate will bring best software development practices to write quality code that can scale to multiple platforms.
• Implement rigorous and comprehensive validation practices to ensure system performance goals are fulfilled.
• Work with geographically dispersed development teams and customers to deliver best in class solutions.

What You Bring

• Bachelors with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 3+ years or PhD with 0 years in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Communications or related field preferred.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++ and Python.
• Proven ability to validate and automate validation of RRC, RRM, and L2 (PDCP/RLC/MAC) SW in the fields of LTE and NR.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong analytical approach to problem-solving.
• A strong team player, self-motivated and positive attitude.
• Familiarity with non-access stratum (NAS) and Physical Layer SW LTE and NR algorithms.
• Familiarity with IMS and Android Telephony SW.
• Experience working with embedded systems.

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.
