SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist works closely with the Vice President of Human Resources in managing full cycle recruiting, as well as administering policies, procedures, benefits, and achieving the objectives of the Human Resources Department and SOR.

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
2–3 years related experience preferred.

 

 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage the full cycle recruiting process: tracking hiring processes from job requisitions, posting job openings, setting up interviews, following up with candidates, sending offer letters, and initiating all background checks.
  • Assist with the interview process; track status of candidates in HRIS.
  • Assist in the administration of benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Complete Forms I-9, verify documentation, and maintain I-9 files.
  • Manage the onboarding process for all new employees.
  • Facilitate and lead company activities and events.
  • File documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Basic Math: the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position requires regular and punctual attendance, including the ability to work all scheduled shifts and any required overtime. The role involves sitting, standing, walking, reaching outward, and performing fine motor tasks throughout the day. Employees will also occasionally need to bend, squat, or kneel, and may occasionally reach above shoulder level. Climbing and crawling are not required.


The position occasionally requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light materials. Employees must be able to:

  • Lift/Carry up to 10 lbs occasionally.
  • Push/Pull up to 12 lbs occasionally.

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when in manufacturing areas, including safety glasses. Steel-toed safety shoes or boots, respirators, and ear protection are not required for this position. The work environment includes exposure to moderate noise levels typical of an office and manufacturing setting.

 

REQUIRED TRAINING
All required training is determined by the department supervisor and/or manager. Procedures critical to this position may be identified as such on the Department Training Matrixes, which are maintained by the Human Resources Department.
