Job Description Summary:
The Director of Segmentation for the Club, Drug and Value Channel Category Leadership team will play a pivotal role in driving our company’s success and modernizing retail by leading our assortment segmentation efforts within the markets we serve. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced segmentation strategies to maximize our retailers’ category growth potential while creating value for Coca-Cola. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven record of success in segmentation, market research and category management.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive segmentation strategies and capabilities that align with our customers, and company’s goals and objectives.
Leverage customer and shopper data to build segmentation models, including store level predictions, that will drive category growth with our customers.
Develop and speak to statistical models impacting segmentation recommendations to customers, bottlers, and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional peers such as Sales, Bottlers, and broader Commercialization organization to ideate on and formulate recommendations on best path forward for assortment recommendations within Club, Drug and Value retailers.
Influence senior level stakeholders within retailer and system to progress assortment segmentation across top retailers.
Create and maintain partnership with Sales Leads and Category Managers to become indispensable segmentation advisor with National Club, Drug and Value retailers.
Best in class utilization of testing platforms such as InContext and Mastercard APT to drive recommendations.
Utilize advanced analytics and consumer insights to identify distinct segments within the marketplace and assess their potential value and growth opportunities.
Lead cross-functional teams to implement segmentation strategies, providing guidance and expertise to ensure successful execution.
Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, effectively communicating the business implications of segmentation initiatives.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the category leadership team, encouraging the adoption of new ideas and technologies to enhance segmentation efforts.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in market segmentation, category management, or consumer insights within the CPG industry.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies.
Proficient in market research methodologies and analytics tools.
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a variety of audiences as well as influence.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactical plans effectively.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong working knowledge of syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana) and customer specific data sources (1010data, etc.).
Ability to utilize/manipulate/manage large data sets.
Demonstrated reputation for customer engagement with ability to positively drive business results.
Ability to link category leadership strategies to customer strategies.
Planning experience – strategic thinking, forward looking, time cognizant.
Travel Requirements: 10-20%
