Post Doctoral Fellow

Description

The Fellow will be mentored to coach and facilitate professional development (PD) for our Master Teacher Fellows on the Building Leadership Among Science Teachers (BLAST) grant, collect and analyze data related to BLAST activities and outcomes, and collaborate on external funding proposals. In particular, we anticipate the Fellow assisting the BLAST team in seeking external funding related to our long-distance PD and coaching model for science teachers that could be leveraged to support rural teachers. The Fellow will also have the opportunity to mentor graduate students and teach undergraduate courses as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. -Instructional coaching of Master Teacher Fellows (MTFs) to include meeting with MTFs monthly and visiting MTFs on site once a semester. Will also include reviewing lessons, asynchronous work, and providing feedback and coaching as they progress to becoming excellent science teachers and leaders. -Working with BLAST staff to collect data from participants. Leading and managing data analysis on the BLAST project with graduate students to answer research questions. This will involve the use of Qualtrics and appropriate data analysis software. -Attending weekly meetings with the project team. Working with graduate students on a daily basis to mentor and support them as needed. -Working with project staff to write and disseminate findings from the project in research journals and in applications for new funding.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree; Three years teaching experience in K-12 school settings.
