The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Virtual Desktop Interface Virtualization Specialist to provide expert support and services to USSTRATCOM in the design, implementation and management of VDI solutions. This role requires advanced technical skills, strategic planning and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure optimal performance, security and scalability of virtual desktop environments.
The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Virtualization Specialist, Senior:
Plans, engineers, installs, configures, maintains, operates, defends, troubleshoots, and repairs virtual desktop infrastructure and servers
Provides virtual desktop management services
Secures day-to-day operations by maintaining, managing, monitoring, and administering, including patching for server systems, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and non-IAVA compliance, and administering server systems on designated networks
Maintains and administers hardware, software, firmware, and OSs for designated physical and virtual servers
Analyze system performance metrics and provide recommendations for enhancements
Conduct regular assessments of VDI environments to identify areas for improvement
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
May supervise others
Qualifications:
Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in VDI virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Citrix)
Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 451 - Intermediate; Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
AND
Additional Cert: VMWare VCP certification
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, storage solutions, and security compliance
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
