Main Accountabilities:

Physical Security Program:

  • Monitors all security systems and equipment for functionality, alarm response and security of workers, assets, and facilities.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting of physical security incidents. Communicates and escalates security incidents or related information in accordance with standard instructions and procedures.
  • Completes and maintains daily activity logs and reports.
  • Acts as the central point of contact for all Protective Services related issues and assistance.
  • Identifies any gaps and makes recommendations to amend current processes.
  • Supports the Global Protective Services department in identifying physical security needs, resolve issues and support initiatives.
  • Conducts system and equipment checks, patrols of facilities and response to security and safety needs.
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor or Global Protective Services management.

Regulatory Requirements and Standards:

  • Supports the Global Protective Services compliance program for DN customer, industry and regulatory requirements. 
  • Under direct supervision, ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  •  Executes procedures, maintains evidence and continually fosters a culture and environment in support of meeting requirements.
  •  Produces ID/Access Cards based on authorization.
  •  Assists to ensure systems and procedures in support of requirements are operating effectively. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of all interactions and adheres to requirements and standards.

Customer Service:

  • Provides professional and courteous service to all employees, contractors and customers at all times. Utilizes appropriate customer service techniques in person and over the telephone while interacting with others.
  • May dispatch security personnel to respond to alarms, activations, emergencies, or to escort employee or visitor.
  • Reads, comprehends and responds to coded audible or visible alarms/events received through the systems which may indicate a discrepancy at a protected site, progress of security officers, unlawful intrusions, or fire. Informs emergency personnel, including but not limited to police or fire department of alarms.
  • Assist with alarm and emergency response as necessary.
  • Provides physical security support for an assigned facility or group of facilities.
  • Responds to issues with badging system, security on doors and identification of visitors.
  • Answers routine queries and provides front-line security service at the front desk, following established guidelines.
  • Monitors building entrances and access.
  • Monitors and escorts un-cleared persons as required.
  • Provides verbal and written reports on safety, security, facility or personal issues / incidents.
  • Calls on other facilities specialists as required for EHS-related issues.
  • Activates the emergency procedure system when necessary.
  • Builds working relationships with customer representatives and with cross-functional teams.
  • Notifies and cooperates with local fire and law enforcement officers as required.
  • Impacts the quality of own work and of the team.

General Functional / Technical Competency Requirements

  • Required: Must be proficient in utilizing computers, reporting detailed information, and following detailed procedures; MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Preferred: Be politically astute but not politically motivated. Be realistic and comprehend the need to assess a situation/issue. Function as an integral part of the Global Protective Services team.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Essential: High School diploma / GED
  • Preferred: Associates degree; or a combination of equivalent work experience

Work Experience:

  • Essential: Experience working in security, customer service, call center, military or related field. Experience utilizing detailed policies and procedures.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a physical security program or call center.
