Today, Larkin Street Youth Services is the largest provider of housing and services to homeless youth in the Bay Area. We serve 1,500 youth annually, operating or partnering to provide more than 500 emergency shelter, transitional, supportive, and subsidy-based housing beds at several unique sites across San Francisco.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Director of Client & Clinical Services will oversee and monitor the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Department, provide clinical consultation to Program Directors, Program Managers, and staff across programs, and work with the Division Director of Client & Clinical Services to deepen staff use of best practices across Larkin Street, including utilizing strengths-based approaches, Trauma-Informed Care, Harm Reduction, and Restorative Practices to address mental health and/or substance use challenges when serving unhoused and/or marginally housed Transitional Age Youth (TAY). The Director of Client & Clinical Services will provide clinical and administrative supervision to Wellness clinicians & interns, and will oversee referrals and assignment of clients, coordinate resource linkages, and perform administrative tasks related to program operations for the overall Wellness Department.
This position is full-time and eligible for full-benefits.
Your responsibilities:
- Assess training needs and provide clinical consultation and training to Program Directors, Program Managers, and staff across programs on a range of clinical topics relating to mental health and/or substance use challenges, harm reduction, and best practices for serving Transitional Age Youth (TAY) communities.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to Wellness clinicians and interns, including weekly individual and/or group supervision.
- Manage and triage waitlist for Wellness clinical services and match client referrals to Wellness clinicians and interns.
- Facilitate and coordinate Collaborative Case Conferences across Larkin Street to assist in determining next steps for clients presenting with mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Update and distribute monthly Wellness and Harm Reduction newsletters to staff across Larkin Street regarding best practices, including highlighting of key community and resource updates.
- Co-facilitate virtual Mental Health First Aid trainings to agency staff and community partners throughout San Francisco.
- Work with Division Director of Client & Clinical Services to ensure effective coordinated service delivery, grant and contract compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
- Develop and sustain partnerships, including promoting contacts, working relationships, and cooperative programs between Larkin Street’s Wellness Department and other organizations involved in mental health, substance use, and harm reduction services serving TAY and adults, including with SFDPH, CBOs, and key providers in the TAY and Adult Systems of Care.
- Monitor and approve clinical notes, audit files, and complete general administrative tasks.
- Oversee the creation and ongoing maintenance of harm reduction kits for program sites, and ensure appropriate data collection and tracking adhering to internal agency policies and procedures.
- Promote collaboration and cross-training among teams throughout the agency.
- Serve on the On-Call Clinical Consultation rotation.
- Ability to travel independently throughout the community to Larkin Street’s various program and partner agency sites.
- Actively participate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work within the agency, along with managing programs with a lens on DEI.
