About the Role:

The Human Resources Representative (Retail) is primarily responsible for all administrative tasks related to the life cycle of retail associates and acts as a main point of contact for the retail field associates. The HR Representative will be providing detailed and accurate information as it pertains to payroll, benefits, company policies and procedures, as well as State, Federal and local/city laws. The HR Representative is responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service, timely processing of all HR related information, and supporting field management with various administrative tasks. In addition to the main responsibilities outlined below, management may assign additional responsibilities as needed.

What You'll Do:

  • Interpretation and enforcement of retail policies and procedures.
  • Directly responsible for all changes to associates records in a timely manner in Workday system( new hires, promotions, demotions, change in hours, terminations).Ensuring all supporting documentation is reviewed with associate and accurate records are kept.
  • Verifies the integrity and completion of all New Hire documentation to meet or exceed the requirements of Sarbanes- Oxley and Internal Audit.
  • Onboarding audits to guarantee adherence with Federal and State Requirements including but not limited to: Form I9 and work permits required for minors.  
  • Analysis and execution of state law requirements of employee’s final paycheck when separating from company.
  • Partnering closely with payroll department and demonstrating effective communication to ensure associates are paid accurately.  
  • Responsible for timely response to general inquires associates have during their employment lifecycle with the company.
  • Responsible for accurate benefits enrollment (including annual open enrollment), ensuring all enrollments meet IRS regulations. Responsible for communicating benefit eligibility reminders to ensure timely enrollment and answer questions employees have regarding company benefits.  Collaborating with Benefits Department on resolving benefit related issues.
  • Partner with field management when handling, and/or addressing any issue that has an impact on employees and on their relationships to and with other employees, managers, and those outside the organization with whom they come in contact as part of their employment experience. Ensure that all situations are in compliance with company policy, Federal regulations, FLSA, Title VII or State and local Laws. Work with field management on serious allegations such as Sexual Harassment, discrimination etc. When necessary, seek guidance from Senior HR Management, internal or external legal counsel, or our Employee Assistance Program.
  • Working closely with the unemployment vendor to ensure all unemployment claims are processed and communicated to state and Equifax vendor timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for analysis of rehired employees to ensure they are provided with reinstatement of prior sick time as required by their state law.
  • Responding to and providing required documentation as outlined in Subpoenas in compliance with required timeline.
  • Work Authorization Audit: Responsible for identifying and communicating to Store Management when an employee’s work authorization is expiring and obtaining updated work authorization documents.

What You'll Bring:

  • Human Resources experience preferred.
  • College degree
  • Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organization ability.
  • Self starter, flexible and analytical.
  • PC skills (MS Word, Excel).
