Senior Cost Manager

Microsoft's CO+I team is seeking a Datacenter Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Senior Cost Manager to provide services onsite in Boydton, Virginia.  

This role is a field-based role located Boydton, Virginia. Relocation support will be provided and successful candidates must ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the field location. This role is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.

Responsibilities

Deep understanding of the commercial management of the General Contractor (GC) from liaison with our procurement office on the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents through to the final payments and agreement of the final accounts and paperwork. This will also include:

• Reports to the EPC Sub- Regional Cost Management Lead  

• Detailed estimation of the project based on local design documents. 

• Agreement of estimates with the GC at during design development and agreement of the contract sum. 

• Pay application assessment and approval for the GC, all equipment vendors and all project support consultants. 

• Estimation of and commercial agreement of all change orders. 

• Draft commercial detail and supporting documents for all funding requests. 

• Review and agreement of all GC procurement of the subcontract packages including the approval of the sub contract Letters of Authorization (LOAs). 

• Commercial review of all disputes that may arise. 

Commercial management of all other program vendors including: 

• Presenting proposals to head office for purchase order approval. 

• Approving invoices for all project vendors. 

• Final account agreement & closeout for all vendor accounts. 

• Manage the Cost Management firm contracted to provide commercial support in the region. 

• Assist in the procurement of Cost Management firm.
