Description
OVERVIEW:
This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional to manage and oversee various aspects of construction projects. Key responsibilities include frequent travel to project sites, ensuring compliance with contracts and standards, tracking project progress, managing budgets and timelines, and coordinating bids and inspections. The role also involves facilitating permitting processes, supporting maintenance activities, and maintaining project data. Strong collaboration with vendors, municipalities, and teams is essential, as well as a commitment to confidentiality and operational excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
› Travel frequently to various project sites, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability as a "road warrior" to oversee and support on-site operations and ensure project success.
› Review vendor contracts to ensure work scopes align with project requirements, deliverables, and compliance
standards.
› Track and report project progress, providing regular updates on milestones
› Monitor and manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and scheduled
milestones.
› Solicit and evaluate construction bids for upcoming projects, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project
specifications.
› Interface and coordinate with project teams, municipalities, and vendors to ensure seamless communication,
collaboration, and alignment with project objectives.
› Oversee project closeout activities, including final inspections, documentation, and turnover to ensure all requirements are met and project completion is achieved
› Facilitate the permitting process by preparing and submitting required documentation, coordinating with regulatory
agencies, and ensuring timely approvals
› Support the Construction Manager in overseeing maintenance activities for existing facilities, ensuring operational
efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
› Manage various onsite inspections (state, local, third party)
› Review vendor invoices for accuracy of scope and job cost
› Gather, organize and maintain pertinent facility information within project management tools (Monday.com)
› Attend / complete assigned trainings
› Maintains confidential child, parent and/or school information in accordance with company policies
› Performs all such related and non-related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor and/or Company CEO
Requirements
WORKING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
› Ability to lift, push and/or pull required workload, up to 50lbs
› Must maintain professional and neat appearance with long pants and work shoes
› Must be regularly available to work required hours per day and overtime/weekends as requested
› Requires travel between school locations, daily, designated by Construction Manager
› Perform duties onsite unless otherwise indicated and approved
QUALIFICATIONS:
› High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
› College degree preferred; relevant experience may override
› 2+ years’ experience in working on commercial construction projects (preferred)
› Proven track record of working on a variety of commercial construction projects (preferred)
› Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate and maintain working
relationships with all levels of staff
› Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
› Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently
› Experience navigating permitting processes and building codes; solid understanding of building plans and
specs and the ability to maintain and interpret construction drawings or ability to learn
