Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Aeronautical Engineer (Sustainment) Intern. In this role, you will analyze engineering retrofit design and Air Force Technical Order data in conjunction with other Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company (LM Aero) computer systems to translate drawings into specification compliant Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) and modification kits. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of helping with development of modification task analysis on retrofit proposals, develop initial retrofit plans to identify required TCTOs, kits, level of accomplishment, modification man-hours, out of service time, modification location, modification installation tooling, consumable material requirements, operational checkout requirements. Assist in developing plans for rate installation of the mods. Must be a U.S. Citizen as this position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or comparable engineering or technical degree
• Exposure to reading and interpreting engineering drawings and process specifications through relevant coursework
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook

• Military or commercial aircraft maintenance experience
• Aircraft modification experience
• Demonstrated analytical and project management skills through relevant coursework
• Superb teamwork, and communication and relationship skills through coursework group projects
