ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Project Management Office. In this position, you will be responsible for leading both Scrum and Waterfall project activities, project financials, and ensure a successful and on-time project delivery. You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. The ideal candidate with take a consultative approach to managing a variety of projects ranging from Infrastructure to Development.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• As Project Manager, lead project teams through all phases and activities of the project life-cycle process associated with major information technology systems projects that are essential to departmental missions and affect operations on a long-term and continuing basis
• Manage a mix of complex project initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
• Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
• As Scrum Master, demonstrate the ability to effectively coach a team in an Agile environment, by facilitating and enabling Scrum routines at the team level
• Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
• Identify and develop trusted adviser relationships with project and program stakeholders and sponsors
• Lead business requirement elaboration sessions to thoroughly document business capabilities needed
• Lead technical teams’ discussions to translate business requirements into system requirement definition
• Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
• Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
• Provides status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
• Evolve PMO processes, tools, metrics, and policies ensuring they drive productivity, quality and business success
• Remain compliant with company policies, processes and legal guidelines

 

QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology or similar.
• PMP Certified (Project Management Professional)
• Agile Scrum Master Certification
• 10+ years of relevant project management experience and significant experience as a Scrum Master
• Expert knowledge in project management, governance, and in leading change and innovation
• Prior experience managing a DevOps and/or cloud migration project and seeing it from inception through completion
• Passion for driving and implementing process improvement
• Solutions-oriented approach to solving complex problems and challenges
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Adaptable and flexible in complex situations with ability to navigate through conflict with positive outcomes
• Experience with multiple IT methodologies and processes (including Agile)
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, Visio, and SharePoint
• Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
• Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
