Description
The Office of Education Abroad at Case Western Reserve University is hiring Student Assistant(s) to support and promote study abroad and international efforts of the university. We are seeking mature, friendly, enthusiastic students who are passionate about international affairs and have an interest in sharing their study abroad knowledge with the CWRU community. Ideal candidates will have a love of all things international while being able to serve in a support, clerical, and customer service role for the Office of Education Abroad. Starting salary is $12.22
Typical job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Covering the front desk and being comfortable managing student drop-in hours, greeting and assisting visitors (faculty, staff, students, and community members--both individual and delegations), answering phones, etc.
- Data entry, database system management, and benchmarking
- Managing social media accounts, contributing to the monthly newsletter, and other marketing projects
- Active engagement with prospective study abroad students at Discover Week, the Study Abroad Fair, and events hosted by the Office of Education Abroad or university partners
- Assisting with events hosted by the Office of Education Abroad (e.g. Study Abroad Fair) that may require manual labor, including setup and tear down
Qualifications
- Interest in other cultures and desire to be a part of internationalization at CWRU; international experience and intercultural communication skills are highly valued
- Customer service orientation and comfort engaging with a variety of visitors
- Detail-orientated and able to produce quality work across many instances of the same or similar tasks
- Willingness to learn new systems and software, CRM and our in-house database
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google, familiarity with Canva and CampusGroups, social media platforms a plus
