What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $68,000 - $88,000/annually, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work three (3) days in office. For your in-office days, you can expect to work at the Wellington Webb Municipal Building (201 W. Colfax Ave., CO 80202). Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The City and County of Denver’s Community Planning and Development Department (CPD) is responsible for visionary city planning and ensuring safe, responsible, sustainable building. CPD works with Denver’s communities to prepare land use plans, as well as regulations for land use and design, that guide the city’s growth, enhancement, and preservation. Our staff also reviews, permits, and inspects development applications to ensure that future construction meets the community-led regulations laid out in Denver's zoning codes as well as meets the rigorous standards of the city's building, fire, and energy codes. Denver's Community Planning and Development Department (CPD) is seeking an Associate Data Analyst. This position will support data-driven decision-making by collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to uncover insights, track performance, and improve business processes. This role works cross-functionally to translate business needs into actionable data solutions and maintain key reporting tools such as dashboards and performance metrics.
Specifically, as an Associate Data Analyst you will:
Collect, clean, and transform raw data from various sources using tools such as SQL and Excel to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability for analysis
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and performance reports using Power BI to support data transparency, business insights, and decision-making
Monitor and update key performance indicators (KPIs) to support ongoing operational reporting, identify data issues or trends, and propose relevant improvements or adjustments
Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and communicate findings through visualizations, summaries, or presentations tailored to different audiences
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions or technical documentation
Support project management activities by breaking down complex processes into clear, actionable steps and coordinating across departments to meet data-related objectives and timelines
Assist in the development of technical requirements or specifications based on business needs, working with developers, analysts, or system owners to ensure alignment and feasibility
Contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes, documentation, and data governance practices to enhance data quality and analytical effectiveness
