Nexwave Senior QA Engineer

Purpose  

In this role of senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of Amadeus HEY (including CheckMyTrip) products and procedures through rigorous inspections, implementation of quality control measures, and identification of areas for improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to building high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. You will ensure that Amadeus HEY new features and capabilities are delivered according to customers’ expectations. You will validate and sign-off that new features are working as designed while checking that existing one still work correctly. You will work together with other engineering roles (within Amadeus or external technical partners) to enrich the customer experience. You will also contribute to any continuous improvement efforts (technical, functionality, security, User-Experience, Agile Processes, etc...), in line with the Amadeus standards.  

This position requires knowledge of the travel industry, what a travel booking represents and the different functionalities required to have a good travel journey.  

As we have a B2C product, you will have to work on PII data and should also take into consideration Privacy aspects in writing your different test strategies.  

Good knowledge about REST APIs and automation is required. Knowledge of Mobile App testing is a plus.  

Common accountabilities: 

- Has working experience and advanced and specialized technical/functional knowledge in own discipline. Understands how own area contributes to the business. Acts as a reference for colleagues with less experience and supports junior team members.  

- Influences decisions related to own activity, anticipating dependencies and consequences in complex scenarios, contributes to transversal projects, proposes improvements to processes and is accountable for own and team commitments.  

- Works independently within plan dictated by manager, with some guidance on most complex situations. 

Key accountabilities:

  • Attend to specification/architecture reviews (also on customer specification reviews when applicable), and provide feedback along with any potential impact, risk, issue or missed gap based on experience 

  • Define test strategy and test plan containing test cases (functional and non-functional), ensure traceability with specifications and customer requirements 

  • Write test plan (functional and/or non-functional and/or non-regression an/or performance).  

  • Ensure compliance of test strategy with CI/CD guidelines, Green IT guidelines and all quality guidelines (SDL, STDL), QA best practices/standards from the industry (ISTQB..) 

  • Ensure improvement of non-regression test repository.  

  • Design and perform tests  

  • Design test cases and develop automated test case scripts.  

  • Prepare test environment, test data, and execute test cases. 

  • Continuously assess the need to add/update/remove test cases to existing regression and CI/CD pipeline when new product features are delivered and based on metrics (stabilization, deletion of flaky tests...) 

  • Be responsible for the project, product, or release quality control.  

  • Use automation framework for E2E tests including API and UI  

  • Provide information to developers to fix defects  

  • Check bug fixes and give go/no-go for the load of Production PTRs  

  • Document software defects.  

  • Share your knowledge  

  • Participate in specification reviews to give input on testing requirements.  

  • Report and communicate on test activities to the line organization, software developers and product definitions analysts.  

The best candidate will have:  

  • At least 3 years' work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role 

  • Hands-on experience with a Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies (unit, integration, smoke, performance, ...) 

  • In-depth understanding of REST APIs 

  • Knowledge of automation framework for testing 

  • Understanding of queuing systems and notification engines would be a plus 

  • Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities 

  • Collaborative mindset and team spirit 

  • Good analytical skills 

  • Master's degree in computer engineering or relevant field 

  • Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
