Summary
Firework is a multinational start-up in high-growth mode. We are looking for a motivated Contracts Associate to join our growing Deal Desk team. You’ll influence day-to-day contractual matters and serve as a thought partner on business initiatives that may require risk mitigation strategies as we rapidly scale. You are hands-on, thrive in a fast-paced environment, have exceptional business acumen with a practical team-centric approach.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintain and update our contract management system and contract repository to ensure proper data hygiene.
- Review, analyze, abstract, and process a variety of vendor contracts using enterprise-wide contracting systems.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and revise contract templates, playbooks and other tools to streamline the deal process.
- Provide proactive, practical and solution-oriented advice related to Firework’s products and contracts and operate as a business partner to close deals.
- Track progress of contract negotiation and execution and provide status updates to a variety of interested parties.
- Assist members of the global team with various tasks on an ad hoc basis, such as research,document formatting and creation, and others.
- Develop relationships of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
- Other projects as determined on a case by case basis.
We'll be excited if you have
- Experience working with either a contracts, legal, or business affairs team, at a SaaS/software, Media, or other technology company, ideally in a high-growth global start-up environment.
- JD in progress (Going into 3L year preferred, but will consider going into 2L)
- Digital Media experience a plus.
- Paralegal certificate or experience a plus.
- Experience in helping to build contracts operations, administration and processes for a global organization.
- Knowledge of legal and contract terms; ability to read a contract and explain it in plain language
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously and work collaboratively as a team player with sales, business development, legal, finance and other internal business partners.
- Exceptional ability to properly balance risk and the goals of the business in a practical manner.
- Strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to prioritize duties, work independently and manage high-volume workloads and multiple large matters simultaneously with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven global environment spanning multiple time zones.
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal and communication skills; reputation as a strong business partner and trusted advisor
The role may be hybrid in one of our offices or remote. For remote, we are looking for candidates based in the United States.
The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role: The estimated pay range for this role is $30 per hour. The posted pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position and is subject to change. The total compensation package may include stock options. To determine a successful candidate’s starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, an evaluation of the candidate’s skills and experience, market demands, and internal parity.
