The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

About the Role

This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:

Your Responsibilities

· To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The Magna Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

· To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.

· To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.

· To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

Who we are looking for

· Responsible to the Purchasing Manager for the procurement of supplies and/or equipment for all departments; and performing other related duties as assigned.

· Receive and interview vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, negotiate prices, service, quality or other matters.

· In conjunction with the Purchasing Manager, develop and investigate new sources of supply, make recommendations as to their approval.

· Maintain effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern.

· Creates, maintains updated product/vendor information. Ability to work with ERP system effectively.

· Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving associated problems.

· Prepares and presents reports.

· Perform other duties as directed.

Your preferred qualifications

· An A.S. Degree or some college is preferred but high school GED or diploma along with diversified procurement and negotiation experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree.

· Must have the ability to create, manipulate, and maintain Microsoft Office Applications (mainly Excel and Word)

· Demonstrated verbal and written communication abilities

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Fluency in English mandatory

· Willingness and ability to travel as required to accomplish the job.
