The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins is seeking an Administrative Specialist who will support the mission of the Department by providing complex administrative and grant project support to the faculty in the department of Oncology.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Plans, executes and oversees a wide variety of special projects and special assignments related to the GI division.
- Provides administrative support to faculty as assigned.
- Coordinates meetings, conferences and presentations that involve multi-institutions as well as industry partners. This includes providing technical assistance with teleconferences and webinars, and preparation of materials and slides.
- Is responsible for special event planning as needed.
- Prepares and edits correspondence for assigned faculty.
- Represents the Cancer Center as appropriate in communicating professionally with faculty, administrators, and external contacts.
- Coordinates travel for national and international meetings.
- Independently manages faculty calendars. Organizes high level meetings, makes appropriate arrangements for meetings, compiles and prepares materials, confirms meeting details, assists with communication and other details as needed, prioritizes meeting requests and response times.
- Assists with publication submissions.
- Provides ongoing grant coordination. This includes, steering/advisory meeting scheduling, minutes, coordination of progress reports.
- Tracks and manages patient study lists as designated by the Nurse Manager.
- Maintains faculty CV and bio-sketches
- Places purchases orders, processes expense reports and reimbursements using SAP.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Five (5) years of experience providing progressively responsible administrative support with experience working on a wide variety of special projects and special assignments.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: Min $53,300 - Max $93,500 Annually ($73,400 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
