St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the part-time contingent position of International Recruitment Specialist.   The International Recruitment Specialist will assist the Vice President for Enrollment Management with recruitment strategies and communications for prospective international students with a focus on Central and South America. The specialist will play a critical role in advising and developing targeted recruitment campaigns, fostering relationships, increasing brand awareness within these regions and training staff who are responsible for executing these strategies.

 

St. Mary's College of Maryland, the National Public Honors College, is located in Historic St. Mary's City, 70 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. St. Mary’s College is one of the nation’s best public liberal arts colleges – ranked near the top in U.S. News & World Report and a Best Value for in-state and out-of-state students. Non-sectarian since its founding, the college with its scenic waterfront campus is primarily undergraduate and residential, with a diverse coeducational student body numbering approximately 1600. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required and a Master’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in international student recruitment and admission, with a focus on Central and/or South America. In-depth knowledge of the education systems and cultural nuances in these regions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current national and international trends and practices in recruitment and admission application review and selection.
  • Familiarity with visa processes and regulations for students from Central and South America.
  • Knowledge of international scholarships and funding opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (SLATE), digital marketing tools, and social media platforms.
  • High level of understanding and commitment to the benefits and value of a liberal arts education and the College as The National Public Honors College.
  • Ability to travel, and work some evenings and weekends.
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The work environment of this position is in an office, on the College campus for events, in the high schools/colleges and business environments for recruitment visit purposes.  Events and recruiting environments require standing for prolonged periods of time, lifting at least twenty-five (25) pound boxes of recruitment materials, and walking; the office environment requires sitting; data entry, texting and speaking with prospective students, parents, counselors, etc. in person and on the phone.. 

Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
