What You’ll Do

As a Strategic Relocations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all relocation projects for Amplitel as well as managing the risk for sites on the watchlist. Your role will involve the strategic management of risk in the property portfolio and engaging with external contractors to secure alternative sites when there is the threat of tenure loss on existing assets. You will work closely with various areas of the Amplitel business including property, sales, SAED and construction. Excellent communication skills are required to enable the development of relationships with Amplitel’s key customers. The role involves end to end management of the relocation project including vacation of the existing site as well as the design, construction and installation on the new communications facility. You must have experience of managing projects for both towers and rooftops. You will manage all key stakeholders including customers, landlords, developers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Relocations Manager, you draw on your breath of knowledge and expertise in managing technical projects and leading high performing teams to deliver the following responsibilities:

  • Apply deep expertise in project management and technical knowledge of property and the design and construction of new telecommunications infrastructure (towers and rooftops) and manage a cross functional team to deliver technical projects on time, to budget, and to scope to achieve intended project objectives.
  • Develop the project plan, goals, deliverables, resourcing and measures, including monitoring project performance against milestones and proactively identifying risks and issues, removing process and operational roadblocks and escalating unanticipated variations impacting project delivery.
  • Leverage strong interpersonal skills to communicate the project quality and risk management procedures to project team and stakeholders to ensure governance structures, project management standards (e.g. processes, tools, templates) and reporting requirements are maintained.
  • Authentically engage and influence a cross functional team of technical project delivery specialists to set realistic deadlines, consistently communicate expectations, and develop clear, straightforward plans that motivate the team to reach their full potential. This is achieved through effective coaching and mentoring of technical and non-technical team members to develop their delivery capabilities.
  • Synthesise complex technical products, architectures and challenges into language that non-technical team members and stakeholders understand, in order to drive project outcomes and communicate effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Recognised as an expert in the areas of project management and technical knowledge of property and the design and construction of telecommunications infrastructure (towers and rooftops) with a clear understanding of how emerging / future trends in the market can be applied to deliver technical projects that create enhanced customer outcomes.
  • Leverage substantial technical expertise and project experience to help identify opportunities to innovate project delivery and enhance team effectiveness, significantly contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable impacts to project and team outcomes.
  • Use a range of techniques and channels of communication to liaise with external partners and project team members to ensure technical specifications and services are met, including providing technical guidance in defining and translating functional specifications to ensure the execution of project requirements.
