POSITION OVERVIEW 

A Data Management Analyst operates within a larger Data Management function to provide technical integration and processing support relevant to data to address the business needs of the organization, with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner.  Data comes from diverse sources, clients, venders and technologies, and requires considerable processing and integration to deliver the insights that are beneficial to our customers. 

 

Workplace flexibility has taken on a whole new meaning here at Urban Science. The requirements of each team, role and employee can look quite different. Leaders work with their teams to determine the right balance for working in-person and remotely, considering the needs of the business, our clients, cross-functional projects, individual work, and individual preference.  This role has current Hybrid Workplace flexibility local to our Detroit office.  Candidate must be available and willing to work in-person one day per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Curation of data

  • Guidance: With manager guidance and while working in a supportive team setting, import, transfer, monitor, process, and analyze data in order to improve accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in Agile Processes: Actively engage as a member of a SCRUM team, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to deliver on our commitments.
  • Data Integrations: Interface with other technology teams both within and outside of ChannelVantage to integrate data from a variety of sources. This includes client data source teams, DBAs, and application teams.
  • ETL Development: Plan and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to move and prepare data for analysis or reporting using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other automation tools.
  • Data Stewardship: Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including query optimization, data clean-up, data quality, accuracy checks, and resolving technical issues.
  • Support: Effectively responds to internal inquiries/requests in a timely manner to maintain high satisfaction.
  • Cross-Team Support: Collaborate across several teams to process, audit and integrate data from various sources into downstream systems for data modeling, reporting & production software applications.
  • Commitment to Automation: Assess and implement enhancements to optimize and expand the suite of automated processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, processes, and maintenance activities.
  • Proactively communicates with management to provide updates and report issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively works with manager to understand and implement solutions to improve NPS (client satisfaction).
  • Actively supports and participates in required Urban Science training programs to achieve targeted development objectives.
  • Works with manager in completing own annual goal setting and performance review in a timely manner.
  • Works with manager to prioritize other duties as assigned.
