About our team:
The Sam’s Club Merchandising Solutions team is in the middle of an exciting transformation in which we are revamping the way that we collect and utilize the data associated with the products that we buy and sell. This transformation will lead to tremendous improvements for our members (customers) both in our Clubs as well as when they shop online. To accomplish our goals, we’re growing our team to help support critical activities relating to the implementation of our new Sam’s Club Item Data Management application that will serve as the foundational element for a host of improved capabilities that we will be unlocking in support of improved shop-ability and member experience.
What you’ll do as a Temporary Item Data Management Specialist:
Maintains accuracy of Sam's Club item file database by determining the proper setting for product attribution; monitoring exceptions of item attributes and making corrections; and researching data violations to determine cause and taking corrective action.
Executes corporate compliance initiatives related to Merchandising systems and processes for item file and point of sale process and technology by documenting the compliance process; advising customers on existing processes, policies, and systems; providing training on compliance best practices; providing guidance on best practices and methods used to conduct compliance research; utilizing available tools to generate solutions and achieve compliance objectives and meeting critical compliance deadlines driven by federal, state, and local laws.
Completes work assignments and priorities in Sam’s Item File Support area by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with Managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Provides guidance and support on Item File processes, tools, and systems (for example, incorrect item settings) by monitoring a support folder; responding to formal and informal support requests; communicating with internal and external customers to understand needs; researching issues and identifying solutions; communicating solutions to affected customers; and escalating situations as needed.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in actionable compliance settings within Sam’s item file, point of sale processes, and technology and applies this to the execution and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
