JOB SUMMARY
Regional Industrial Engineering Manager will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing production systems across the US and Canada region that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control within the production sites. The Regional Industrial Engineering Manager will adopt as its goals profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.

LOCATION

  • Location will be on-site at any U.S. Jabil manufacturing facility (Auburn Hills, MI, Monument, CO, Florence, KY, etc.).

  • Travel will be up to 30-50% to various U.S. manufacturing sites, depending on business and project needs, as applicable.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the implementation of the regional Industrial Engineering strategies across the US and Canada sites.

  • Establish and clearly communicate all global and regional Industrial Engineering strategies to the site engineers (including safety and ergonomics)

  • Coach, mentor and train site Industrial Engineers

  • Support recruiting and retention of Industrial Engineering talent within the sites

  • Report and drive improvements across the sites through the monitoring of the key Industrial Engineering metrics

  • Ensure Industrial Engineering succession plans are developed and maintained across the sites

  • Ensure the standardization of Jabil processes across the sites in accordance with the global and regional direction

  • Develop process flow charts, simulation models, layouts, processes, line balancing, staffing models, and manufacturing quotes for new business opportunities

  • Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity in order to support process improvement through the organization

  • Support and/or maintain all lower-level Industrial Engineering essential duties and responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing velocity projects across the region

  • Manage all projects and initiatives using Project Management tools and principles

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS


KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding and application of broad range of industrial engineering tools (e.g., work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, operations research, etc.)

  • Understanding of Jabil’s global strategies and direction

  • Understanding of sites facilities, capabilities and how they tie back to the Jabil strategies and direction

  • Understanding of the complete Sales to Payment process

  • Strong financial and analytical ability

  • Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous improvements and cost reduction programs

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and e-mail skills required.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.

  • At least 12+ years of working experience in the Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Experience with manufacturing of one or more of the following product types strongly preferred: Large Form-Factor products such as energy storage systems, batteries, servers/cloud network systems, switch gear with liquid cooling, or other data/dev center infrastructure.

  • Some leadership experience.

  • Lean Silver Certificate or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
