Your role:

The Production Lead’s primary role is to coordinate the creative and technical Broadcast Services team members in New York and to assist in the creation and production of items such as commercials, films, interviews, live streams, podcasts, video tutorials, audio recordings, and other video content in various TV and online formats.

The Production Lead is a Team Lead role and will be creatively and technically hands-on while ensuring the team remains focused on their individual areas of responsibility. As such, they may not necessarily be the subject matter expert in specific disciplines but are expected to have a good all-round knowledge of video production, live streaming/broadcasting and post-production.

The Production Lead should have a solid understanding of lighting design, framing and composition, color science and editing techniques, as well as audio production and sound design.

The production lead is effectively responsible for the entire department in their given location. They play a crucial role in helping stakeholders to achieve their visual requirements, and in providing participants and stakeholders with carefully calculated schedules which offer viable ways of making films within specified periods of time.

During multi-cam recordings and live streaming, they will lead operations within the production control room, directing camera operators and performing camera switching in real time.
  

The Production Lead will also be responsible for a dedicated AV Technician within the team. They will work closely to ensure audio and video systems are in good working order for both video productions and more general AV systems such as the auditorium, meeting rooms, and communal areas. This may include streaming live content during events or pre-recorded and scheduled content, as appropriate.

 

Your job:

  • Creative / Technical
    • Capture video or audio using a camera, software, or other recording devices.
    • ATEM Switcher Operation during recordings and/or live streams.
    • Directing the camera operators during recordings and/or live streams.
    • Directing performers prior to and during recording.
    • Write and edit scripts and prompts for video projects such as (but not limited to) tutorial and commercial content.
    • Record audible dialogue such as narration for videos and author/edit the audio for improved quality and clarity.
    • Reviewing storyboards.
    • Defining and reviewing shot lists.
    • Providing guidance to other departments throughout the project initiation phase, helping them to define a brief that can be developed into an effective storyboard.
    • Working with the team to produce camera scripts and director’s scripts for multi-cam shoots, live streams etc.
  • Managerial:
    • Work with our legal department to ensure legal aspects of recording, such as talent waiver, public recording permits etc.
    • Coordinate conference calls and round-table brainstorming sessions when necessary to build upon ideas and align projects to fit company guidelines.
    • Keep all parties involved in a project up to date with clear and open lines of communication.
    • Collaborate with other Production Leads in different locations where projects are of a global or multi-site nature.
    • Organize and align scheduling of various projects from different teams, including (but not limited to) recording sessions, video capturing, number of the edit, and delivery dates.
