Any (United States of America)A Brief OverviewThe Security Officer, through his or her normal duties, provides for a safe and secure environment for patients, families, and staff. Also provides a high degree of customer service for visitors, families and staff by helping with way finding and other general questions and requests for assistance. Will also respond to all emergency situations and participate as a first responder during such situations. Responsibilities
Perform entry screening at fixed posts; patrol facilities and parking areas; and enforce CHOP’s security and safety policies.
Promptly respond to emergency calls and requests for service. Document security incidents and report emergencies to supervisor.
Screen individuals entering facilities; check employee ID and visitor badges; enforce CHOP’s rules and regulations; and confirm that all visitors, vendors, and contractors are authorized to be on the property and have been signed in. Escort unauthorized persons from facilities.
Provide security escorts with a friendly demeanor to employees, patients, families, and visitors.
Screen individuals for weapons and prohibited items, using a handheld or walkthrough/by detection device where appropriate. Document and secure identified items.
Respond to all routine and emergency calls, including patient restraint events, as directed by supervisor or base operator.
Provide support during helicopter landings, fire alarms, and emergency preparedness events. Intervene as necessary in verbal and physical conflicts to ensure safety.
Assist with campus parking, identifying and documenting illegally parked vehicles; notifying supervisor to call for a tow truck and/or police services; and assisting parking team members as needed.
