About the Role

Workday is seeking a Finance professional to join the Product & Technology Finance Team as a Finance Manager. In this role, you will partner closely with product leaders to provide strategic financial insights, drive data-driven decision-making, and ensure the achievement of our product objectives. We’re looking for someone who is meticulous about drilling down and understanding data, enjoys collaborating across the organization, and is super curious about what makes things tick. This is an exciting chance to create a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the Director of Finance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted finance advisor and business partner to the Product leadership team, providing financial guidance and support on critical initiatives and investment decisions. Collaborate with leaders to provide visibility they need to make key business decisions around investments & drive growth across product portfolios.

  • Performance Management: Develop and supervise key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product performance (ARR, ACV, product attach rates, etc). Analyze variances against plans and provide insightful commentary and recommendations. Synthesize ambiguous information and distill into actionable insights.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Partner with a junior analyst to support the budgeting & forecasting process including monthly/quarterly headcount and expense forecast cycles, ensuring accurate projections, appropriate level of reporting, analysis, and communication. 

  • Product Profitability & ROI Analysis: Conduct detailed financial modeling and analysis to evaluate the profitability and return on investment of new and existing products and features.

  • Business Case Development: Partner with cross-functional teams to develop robust business cases for new product initiatives, pricing strategies, market expansions, and strategic investments.

  • Decision Support: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support critical business decisions, including resource allocation, product prioritization, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present clear and concise financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Operational Improvement: Identify and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting related to the product organization.
