Job Summary
The primary objective of the RTR Finance Services Manager I is to provide financial accounting and business process expertise to client bottlers in the areas of CMA Accounting, Long-term Marketing Contracts, and Brand Funding. The role ensures the accuracy and timeliness for month end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, technical accounting guidance, and audit support.
This position requires significant collaboration across finance teams (internal and client), bottler sales teams, and NAOU and 3rd party brand finance to ensure timely and accurate financial recognition of long-term marketing contracts, brand funding support, and CMA accruals. This position provides exposure to many of the bottler’s marketing initiatives and brand introductions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Month end close leadership; including monthly reporting, analysis and reconciliations while ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, integrity and quality of the financial statements
- Review complex and material reconciliations and journal entries prepared by the BPO
- Financial accounting and audit support related to all marketing areas
- Provide operational reporting and insights to support CMA activity; including Accrual vs Payment, Retro Activity, and Past Due Payment reporting
- Subject matter expertise of the Contracts tool and the MARS system for CMA accrual and payment management
- Partner, support, and continually train the BPO team for assigned areas of responsibility
- Provide leadership to the internal team through escalation support and on-going training
- Collaboration across CCBSS and Bottler Operations to support strategic initiatives
- Provide innovative ideas with the use of technology to increase efficiencies and/or drive customer value
- Ensure internal controls for areas of responsibility are in place and maintained to include required documentation, reporting and support for internal and external auditors
Key Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of finance business processes and accounting policies/GAAP and ability to apply
- Knowledge of SAP, Blackline, Advance level Microsoft Excel, and PowerBI, preferred
- Influencing through communication skills, both written and verbal, including with senior executive leaders
- Independent problem-solving/analytical thinking and decision-making skills
- Customer Focus: Developing sustainable, productive internal and external customer relationships and establishing oneself as a valued, trusted financial business partner
- Process improvement focus
- Well organized. Demonstrated planning, time management and prioritization skills
- A credit check is required for this position in Finance.
- Hybrid Work Environment: Employees will be expected to work on-site a certain number of days each week and/or month at the manager’s discretion.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Masters degree and/or CPA preferred
Years of Experience
Minimum 5 years finance and/or accounting experience (knowledge of SAP would be preferred)
Required Travel
Travel is not expected in this job, however, employees may be asked to travel for meetings or training on occasion.
