Responsibilities

 

Duties: The Senior Buyer at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will own the strategy and purchase of high complexity production parts for 10 North American manufacturing plants. The duties include setting strategic direction for the assigned Chemical commodity, managing negotiations, and helping achieve the budget and sourcing. Closing campaigns and meeting rationalization targets. Forecasting and reporting economic savings performance, driving price reductions, driving long term agreements, conducting market tests, awarding new business to maximize leverage, and analyzing various reports to identify cost reduction opportunities.  Supporting special projects as necessary to assist in delivering commodity goals. Focusing on Commodity Strategy, Benchmarking, Sourcing Council preparations, Technical Cost reductions, Warranty agreements, managing supplier financial distress, and coordinating with global teams and supplier capacity management. Leading and supporting global sourcing projects by working closely with the global commodity team (EMEA, LATAM, APAC). Supporting functions for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies through leveraging parts for new platforms to meet program timing, cost, quality, delivery, and strategic objectives. Developing and implementing supply base management strategies both regionally and globally that lead to lowest total cost in terms of quality, lead time, delivery, service and unit cost. Driving the selection of suppliers and negotiating and maintaining supplier performance to expectations. Negotiating, implementing and managing LTA's (long term agreements) while achieving commercial savings and raw material recovery in order to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives and support organization. Facilitating supplier/engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities in order to drive product cost savings and process improvement initiatives to achieve budget performance. Providing leadership in and developing an understanding of and insight into the market for the commodities assigned, including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives. Tracking, monitoring, and executing hedges at optimal raw material market conditions to minimize risk. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Travel required 4-5 trips/year domestically visiting suppliers and plants. Salary $126,131/year

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Requires a Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a directly related field, plus 1 year of experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, or related occupation. The 1 year of experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: 1) Experience in the agricultural or construction equipment industry; 2) Analyzing reports to identify cost reduction opportunities; 3) Conducting market tests and forecasting economic savings performance; 4) Coordinating with global teams and supplier capacity management; 5) Negotiating price reductions and increases; 6) Negotiating, implementing and managing LTAs (long term agreements);  7) Facilitating supplier and engineering VA/VE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) activities;  and 8) Tracking, monitoring, and executing hedges.
