Position Summary

Harness is seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of Product Design to lead our design team in shaping the future of our platform. This role demands a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of a matrixed organization, driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver exceptional user experiences. As a leader, you will be instrumental in guiding design initiatives and mentoring designers to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

Collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams to deliver intuitive, scalable interfaces that help our customers modernize their software delivery processes and ship better software, faster.
Build and scale a team of designers, growing their skills and careers while fostering a high-performance, customer-obsessed team culture
Inspire and motivate the team to do their best work while creating a clear design vision that aligns with Harness’ goals
Advocate for design excellence at every stage of the product lifecycle, balancing speed, quality, and bold experimentation
Redefine best-in-class software design and development processes

About You

Several years of experience leading high-caliber design teams. Experience designing for developer tooling / cloud software / enterprise software is strongly preferred
Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills
Experience designing interactive applications
Experience with design tools such as Figma
Excel at balancing detail-oriented design with big-picture strategy
Relentless in delivering customer-focused experiences, combining user insights with business goals to drive meaningful outcomes
Thrive in cross-functional collaboration, aligning design efforts with Product, Engineering, and Leadership stakeholders
Exceptional communication skills, using storytelling to clarify complex problems and inspire teams
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding the right balance between quality, speed, and experimentation
