About the role

We are looking for a Director of Information Technology to join our growing team here at SurePrep! This is a full-time salary/ non- exempt position. Pay will be determined based on a combination of qualifications, experience and education. The position requires significant cross functional interaction with the Project managers, development teams, and other stakeholders (onshore and offshore). The Director of IT will play a crucial role in oversight and leadership of technology strategy and infrastructure. Reporting to the Vice President of IT, responsibilities include implementation, support, and management of all existing technology systems. The Director of IT will serve as a primary subject matter expert in the selection and development of future technology systems. The successful candidate will blend a hands-on approach to current systems and challenges with the strategic vision needed to ensure our technology systems effectively support future growth. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, results-oriented leader with a drive to continually improve business capabilities. This is a highly visible senior leadership role with the potential to have significant impact on the organization.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Director of IT, you will:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for information technology solutions
  • Effectively lead the department to drive business results, taking accountability for selection of systems, successful implementations, resolution of issues, and support for all internal stakeholders
  • Provide strategic leadership and management for the IT teams; which includes attracting, developing and retaining high performing teams, offering ongoing feedback, professional growth opportunities and overall career guidance
  • Partner with DevOps and InfoSec teams in the design and implementation of secure, highly available, and scalable solutions that support business and security goals.
  • Ensure that we’re deploying performance monitoring and metrics-driven solutions
  • Responsible for Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and implementation of information security remediation of identified vulnerabilities as they relate to scoped IT systems
  • Supervise security events, investigations and participate in problem and change management forums.
  • Invoke the security incident response plan and facilitate the reporting and remediation
  • Work with the IT team to define and implement IT standards and policies, and provide a high level of internal support through the IT Service Desk
  • Manage departmental staff, ensuring optimum resources are in place to deliver business results
  • Partner with training to develop effective communication and training tools for IT systems
  • Develop, track and control information technology operating and capital budgets as needed
  • Serve as primary liaison with key IT vendors to ensure successful partnerships
  • Lead organizational activities in vendor selection, negotiation and management
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with IT systems, develop and lead efforts to mitigate risk appropriately
  • Ensure IT systems and operations adhere to applicable laws and regulations and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS/SOC2/GLBA)

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Director of IT if you possess:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a SaaS based
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, which includes a minimum of 5+ years of specific experience in enterprise information technology or security operations technologies, tools and processes.
  • Experience with common information security management frameworks, such as ISO 2700x, NIST, COBIT, ITIL, SOC 2, etc.
  • Experience in AWS and/or Azure Clouds
  • Knowledge of operating systems (UNIX/Linux, MacOS X and Windows) and of database management systems (SQL Server, etc.)
  • Ability to read and write in scripting languages (BASH, PowerShell, Python, PERL, etc.)
  • Experience with Security Event Information Management systems (SIEM), and Log Aggregation systems
  • Experience in thin client / virtual desktop technologies (AWS Workspaces, Azure WVD, VMware Horizons, etc.)
  • Experience in Atlassian Jira, Jira Service Desk and Confluence
  • Strong listening skills, practices empathic listening
  • Able to communicate clearly through both written and verbal mediums
  • Takes ownership of their results and initiatives to improve; constantly strives for excellence
  • Ability to absorb data from multiple sources and effectively synthesize into clear, concise action plans and recommendations
