HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support critical network infrastructure for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. This position provides essential network engineering support for the NDW portfolio, including the Weapon Storage and Security System (WS3), Vault Modernization Program (VMP), and Disablement Management System (DMS) programs, ensuring secure and reliable network operations for nuclear weapons systems.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
• Perform engineering analysis on current network systems and assist with planning of new systems and upgrades
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture supporting mission-critical nuclear weapons systems
• Design and maintain network systems including hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for efficient solutions
• Manage requirements, design, and implementation for networks and end-to-end systems supporting mission operations, existing ground systems, upgrades, and technology refresh
• Conduct integration and testing of network design for WS3, VMP, and DMS systems
• Maintain system configuration control over software and hardware versions
• Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware/software interconnection including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex network issues in classified environments
• Monitor and analyze overall network performance for areas of improvement and optimization
• Perform security risk management and maintain network system security in accordance with DoD policies and standards
• Implement network protection measures for classified nuclear weapons systems
• Support DoD Risk Management Framework requirements and Information Assurance policies
• Ensure compliance with system safety procedures and cybersecurity requirements
• Provide interface control documents, emulator/simulator baseline control, and test plans
• Create network diagrams, integration/deployment work instructions, and production/test system hardware recommendations
• Develop recommended inputs to Technical Orders (TOs), engineering drawings, and DMSMS plans
• Manage network system engineering program documentation and maintain configuration control
• Support network infrastructure for NATO nuclear deterrence mission systems deployed in Europe
• Provide network engineering expertise for closed-network systems with enhanced security requirements
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including military, civilian, and contractor personnel
Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years’ experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
• Must possess and maintain TOP SECRET
