Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Value-Based Care Payer Relations is a pivotal leadership role within Sutter Health, responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing strategic relationships with payers to advance value-based care initiatives. This leader owns VBC Payer strategy, ensures alignment with Managed Care Contracting team and drive optimal financial and clinical outcomes through innovative payment models and collaborative partnerships.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related) strongly preferred.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare payer relations, managed care contracting, or value-based care leadership within a health system or payer organization.

• Negotiation and influence management
• Analytical and data-driven decision-making

Pay Range is $103.75 to $166.00 / hour. Sacramento Valley Pay Range is $91.30 to $146.08 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package. ​
