The Job:
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be part of our Finance Accounting team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to:
- Corporate Accounting group coordinates the close of the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations for multiple Corporate non-operating companies.
- Responsible for certain recurring areas of accounting including key reserves, derivatives, pension, compensation, debt and equity.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes and work cross functionally to design and implement changes.
- Responsible for the month end, quarter end and year end close processes for Corporate related functions (i.e. Derivatives, Debt, Equity, Prepaid Expenses, Self-funded reserves, etc.) that includes the following:
- Prepares and posts journal entries and understands the technical accounting supporting journal entries.
- General ledger reconciliation.
- Financial statement analysis.
- Actively engage business leaders and various corporate and business departments to drive efficiency in accounting close and resolve issues.
- Coordinates, reviews and prepares schedules for internal and external auditors.
- Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues.
- Coordinate with Businesses & IT to enhance the General Accounting system(s).
- Assist non-financial departments with reporting and accounting issues and participate in financial projects and initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to help improve performance and develop technical competencies.
- Assist with accounting policy or procedure changes, communication needs, etc.
The Person:

- BS in Accounting required.
- Self-motivated CPA with 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience.
- Solid technical skills and ability to analyze new transactions.
- Exhibits strong time management skills and able to work through roadblocks to meet commitments timely.
- Experience with SAP and Hyperion (Enterprise/HFM) systems preferred.
- Possesses excellent written and interpersonal communications, should be able to effectively collaborate and interact with others.
- Self-motivated and able to work on cross functional teams.
- Innovated team player that challenges current processes.
