Senior Engineering Manager

The Opportunity:

DataGrail is in the market for a Senior Engineering Manager and craft leader for quality and development tooling! The Sr. Manager of Engineering will lean on their background in Software Development and Quality to build product and support company efforts around quality and automation. In this ground level opportunity, you will lead two teams: a product focused engineering team and a small quality tooling team.

The Request Manager team leads the product development efforts on our main workflow application. You will have the opportunity to lead this team on its mission to create a 0 click Data Subject Request processing tool, create automation rules that give our customers full control over their privacy program, and more. This is all assisted by our Quality and Automation team, which is responsible for leading the efforts to set standards and evangelize software testing best practices.

The Skill Set:

• Hands on engineering leader with experience building and scaling engineering teams and high quality products
• Engineering management experience running development and quality functions at scale:
  • Proven track record in delivering high quality products in fast iterations, using methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban and Agile
  • Hands on experience identifying, implementing, and expanding automation tools and frameworks
  • Experience in root causing issues in production, shifting testing left and implementing and driving quality metrics for betterment of product quality
  • Collaborative, analytical, detail oriented and be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders
• Quality craft leader who can inspire, teach and evangelize quality best practices to the entire technology organization

Within 90 Days You'll:

• Get to know DataGrail - our people, products, systems, infrastructure, tools, and customers
• Become the Scrum-master for your development team and actively lead the delivery of products and features for their area
• Survey our quality program and develop a quality vision and automation tool roadmap for the organization

Within 180 Days You'll:

• Fully own the design, implementation, and deployment of major features for your team in partnership with your product partner
• Build out metrics, dashboards and SLAs
• Have career development plans and conversations for each direct report
• Implement the strategy around software quality, test automations, and tools to ensure each team builds higher quality products

Within 365 Days You'll:

• Measure against your quality delivery goals for the organization
• Develop plans for scaling the team 
• Report out the status of product quality to the organization, along with a game plan for the following year
• Retrospect the quality vision and roadmap and make changes accordingly
