Principal Data Science

What you’ll do for us 

• Build a high-performance team of data scientists, and analysts that can gather and synthesize data quickly and accurately through predictive and forecasting models

• Forge strong partnerships with business/technology leaders and provide thought leadership on various data science projects and o9 strategic plans

• Be a hands-on leader that drives development of models for demand sensing/forecasting, market intelligence, revenue management, simulation, and stochastic models, etc.

• Own end to end discovery, design, configuration, testing and deployment of analytical models and communication with internal and external stakeholders Identify relevant internal and external data sources. Recommend and oversee appropriate statistical, ML and predictive modeling concepts

• Apply a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, regression, ensemble learning, neural nets, time series, optimizations etc.) to their real-world advantages/drawbacks for insights internally and externally

• Use latest advancements in AI/ML to solve business problems

• Work collaboratively with Clients, Project Management, Solution Architects, Consultants and Data Engineers to ensure successful delivery of o9 projects

• Guide data scientists and oversee their activities to ensure proper alignment/execution of their activities, and maintain high coding standards and best practices within the organization.

What you’ll have

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in the field of Data Science and Analytics with proven track record as a lead data scientist.

• Education: PhD Preferred Degree in the following fields: Operations Research, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related fields (including Supply Chain Engineering)

             

 Skills:

• Experience in hiring, mentoring and leading data scientists

• Strong programming skills and experience in using Python and/or R for Data Science

• Strong analytical techniques, data mining knowledge and proficiency in handling and processing large amounts of data is needed

• Deep knowledge of statistical and machine learning algorithms

• Experience in applied analytical methods in the field of supply chain and planning, like demand planning, supply planning, market intelligence, optimal assortments/pricing/inventory etc.

• Strong presentation and communications skills with ability to communicate complex analytical or technical concepts to audiences with limited analytical or technical background

• Experience with SQL, databases and big data technologies (Hadoop, hive, spark) is preferable

• Experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as Keras, Tensorflow or PyTorch is preferable.

This position at o9 Solutions has an annual salary range of $158,141-$217,444. Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in our medical, retirement, and other company-sponsored benefits.
