Position Summary

Under the leadership of the Administrative Director of Surgical Services, the Business Operations Director is responsible for the overall financial management of Surgical Services. The Business Director establishes and maintains effective systems support for Surgical Services through analysis of expense and revenue data, management of the budget, optimization of scheduling and utilization of the Operating Rooms, Procedure Rooms, and Periop Clinic. Responsible for the development and design of methodologies for performance evaluation, revenue reporting and supply/cost analysis and strategies for efficient delivery of high-quality patient care.  The Business Director will develop, evaluate, and maintain creative, progressive internal documentation and external reports to support the operational and strategic needs of the hospital. 

The Business Operations Director works collaboratively with the Clinical Director in the development of new surgical specialties, procedures, techniques, and technology to support the vision and strategy of Surgical Services and Montage Health.  

Responsible for the oversight of Surgery and Periop Clinic Schedulers, as well as the other business operations personnel including the Systems Analyst. Develops and mentors a high-performing team for all areas of responsibility through practice of excellent employee relations and fostering effective working relationships.  

Experience

Must have knowledge and experience with budget and financial management of an Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, or other procedural area. Previous management experience preferred. 

Must possess skills of a highly proficient nature in computer applications, e.g. report generation/design, spreadsheets and database programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or in a business-related discipline, i.e., business, finance, healthcare administration or computer science required. Master’s degree preferred.
