Job Duties:
- The Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant provides services to remedy abuse, neglect, exploitations or self-neglect of adults or children unable to protect themselves. The Case Worker Assistant will assist Case Worker I's with providing case work services in the area of Assessment, Family Preservation, and Foster Care.
- Performs Child Welfare administrative services in accordance with DSS Policy, Agency Mission and GPS Practice Model.
- Authentically engages families and other professionals with empathy and respect.
- Works collaboratively with Child Welfare staff in performing administrative tasks to support families and other professional/agency partners; tasks can include, facilitating referrals, written correspondence, records request, maintaining case records, family searches, and transportation for visitation.
- Maintains an active routine of self-care and pursues support when necessary to minimize the threat of secondary trauma to physical and mental health.
- Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
- Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duties/services as directed.
Examples of duties
A High School Diploma and one (1) year of relevant program experience.An Associate Degree or higher may be substituted for required experience.
