Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking a skilled and motivated repair technician to clean and repair fab tooling parts with primary responsibility of repairing mechanical parts and identifying repair process issues to support the FAB9 Manufacturing Engineering Solutions (MES) area in Essex Junction, Vermont. The Fab9 MES in turn supports Fab9 semiconductor manufacturing operations.

The candidate is primarily responsible for the troubleshooting, cleaning, repair, and testing of mechanical parts and assemblies and is also expected to develop and deploy standard work including the documentation of same for the areas of responsibility.

Technician positions are hourly shift positions (days) working an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) week of 12-hour shifts. GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Follow documented standard work procedures.
  • Perform basic to advanced mechanical repair activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and able to collaborate and work in a tight-knit team.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members, customers, module engineers and technicians to effectively repair equipment, assemblies, and sub-assemblies within areas of responsibility.
  • Perform visual inspections (quality check).
  • Support fab with timely critical tool down repairs with high quality and efficiency.
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
  • Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, and other duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – 2 Year associate degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical), Military Equivalent, Trade Equivalent, or equivalent experience. 
  • Experience – 18+ months of experience relevant/equivalent military experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Language Fluency –Fluency in English Language - Written & Verbal
  • Physical Capacity Demands – Lifting up to 40 pounds / bending / twisting. 
  • Physical Capacity Demands - 12-hour Alternate Work Schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working in mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
  • Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team.
