As a Facilities Director at Cerence, you will oversee the maintenance, functionality, and optimization of Cerence’s facilities worldwide. Your role will ensure that our physical spaces meet the highest standards for operational efficiency, safety, and employee satisfaction. You will also work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to support our global expansion and sustainability goals.
Your Impact
- Oversee the strategic management and day-to-day operations of Cerence’s facilities worldwide, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and meet company needs.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities management plan aligned with Cerence’s growth, sustainability, and operational goals.
- Lead space planning initiatives to optimize workspaces, supporting remote, hybrid, and in-office teams effectively.
- Manage facility-related budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality services.
- Coordinate renovations, expansions, and other facility-related projects, collaborating with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Implement and oversee sustainability initiatives in line with company goals, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and other green building practices.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across all facilities, leading efforts to mitigate risks and address any issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans for facilities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and other teams to support facility needs, including employee accommodations, onboarding, and security.
- Gather employee feedback to assess facility satisfaction and implement improvements that enhance employee experience and productivity.
- Lead and manage a global facilities team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in facilities management, with a track record of overseeing large, complex facilities or portfolios.
- Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor relationships.
- Ability to develop and implement effective facilities strategies that align with company goals and operational needs.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and across levels.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives, space optimization, and technology-driven solutions for facilities management.
- Knowledge of the automotive or tech industries is a plus, but not required.
