Experience:
The Information Systems Department at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, invites applications for one professional faculty position to begin Fall Semester 2026. Qualifications include a masters degree in Information Systems or related field and a clear commitment to teaching excellence.
Duties/Expectations:
We are seeking a candidate who is both highly qualified and enthusiastic about teaching across a broad range of Information Systems topics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum—including prerequisite courses, the IS Core, and the MISM program across multiple topic areas.
In addition to teaching, this faculty member will be expected to:
- mentor students engaged in experiential learning activities,
- collaborate with colleagues to expand, enhance, and deliver a world-class educational program, and
- contribute to curriculum development with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- participate in various forms of service to the department and university
The successful candidate will be adaptable, forward-thinking, and committed to preparing students for the evolving demands of the Information Systems profession.
As a professional faculty slot this position has no research expectations.
The teaching load for this position is eight courses a year (24 credits) including content development, delivery, assessment, and mentoring. There will be a two-course reduction in the first year of employment. This will be a 10-month contract position with expectations for full-time work a minimum of 43 weeks during the year. Paid holidays apply, but no paid vacation is provided.
