The Opportunity
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Design mechanical systems supporting Conventional and Renewable Power Generation
- Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad
- Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility
- Function in a senior-level engineer capacity which includes:
- Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership
- Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members on complex projects
- Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Understand, manage, and adhere to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
The Team
As a Systems Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a member of our Mechanical Engineering Department, which is housed within our BV Operations team. As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. From small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects, you will be Building a World of Difference through infrastructure growth and development while learning and focusing on your own individual development. Preferred Qualifications
Desired experience for this position includes expertise in the following areas:
- Simple and Combined Cycle plant design
- Condensate and Feedwater systems
- P&ID development
- Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Natural, and/or CO2 gas supply system
- Cooling water, including closed cycle systems
- High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure / Low / Auxiliary Steam system
- Instrument and/or Service Air Systems
- Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems
- Service and Potable water supply system
- Performing calculations such as pipe sizing calculations, pipe thickness calculations, pump sizing calculation, control valve sizing calculations, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.Certifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license
