Job Overview

Provides the resource for the effective collaboration process between Komatsu America Corp (KAC) parts operations and global distributors regarding inventory strategies, stocking policies and supply chain alignment. Utilizes distributor retail data and field intelligence to make informed parts stocking decisions that provide distributors improved return on parts investment, better customer support and higher Komatsu brand loyalty. Results are driven via distributor Authorized Stocking List (ASL) that determines which parts will be stocked by distributor versus regional or central KAC locations. Works extensively with internal Komatsu customers to ensure distributor stocking strategy aligns with KAC and global Komatsu parts objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Analyze distributor sales and inventory data to establish Authorized Stock List (ASL) for each distributor location utilizing transmitted distributor data, KAC inventory planning system and customized ASL web applications.

2. Make strategic part number level stocking decisions that optimize distributor inventories & KAC parts supply chain.

3. Track and distribute key performance metrics for distributors participating in ASL policy. Consult with distributor parts personnel to identify areas of concern, perform analysis and develop strategic plans to increase performance levels of distributor KPIs. Communicate these KPIs and strategic plans to executive level management at distributors and Komatsu (in person, phone, online, etc.).

4. Communicate and train distributor parts personnel on ASL processes and KPIs.

5. Collaborate with distributor IT and business system providers to ensure ASL system integration, promote system enhancements and identify data irregularities.

6.  Support Returns Specialist and Records related to all types of distributor returns.

7.  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, IT or Supply Chain. Master’s Degree preferred.

2. Working knowledge of Materials Management processes, including forecasting, planning and distribution

3. Customer support driven. Strong research and analytical skills.  Sense of urgency. High level of accountability. Results oriented with a bias for action.

4. Professional PC skills and systems knowledge including Microsoft Office.  Prior experience with querying tools such as SQL or Access.  Komatsu Parts Portal, PMATES, or Servigistics systems knowledge preferred.

5. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus

6. Professional written and oral communication skills
