Job Description
The Director of Enterprise Architecture plays a pivotal role in aligning technology with business strategy, ensuring the organization’s IT landscape supports its strategic goals. Below is a detailed job description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and communicate the enterprise architecture vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the development of architecture frameworks and roadmaps across business, application, data, technology, and security domains.
- Guide large-scale integration efforts and modernization of technology portfolios to drive innovation and business value.
Governance and Compliance
- Establish and chair architecture governance boards to ensure efficient use of IT resources and adherence to standards.
- Monitor compliance with enterprise architecture standards and evaluate performance against strategic goals.
Collaboration and Communication
- Foster collaboration between IT, business units, and stakeholders to ensure integrated solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Develop communication plans to articulate the value of enterprise architecture to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide hands-on support for research, development, and proof-of-concept demonstrations of new technologies.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of architects, providing guidance on solution development, technical evaluations, and project alignment with IT strategies.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the architecture team.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Experience:
- 10+ years in enterprise architecture leadership roles.
- Proven track record in developing architecture strategies, leading IT transformations, and managing multidisciplinary teams[4][5].
- Experience with portfolio management, integration projects, and large-scale system implementations[4].
Skills:
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in strategic planning, system design, modeling techniques, and governance frameworks[5][6].
- Excellent communication skills to bridge technical concepts with business stakeholders effectively[3].
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are highly desirable.
