Position Summary

Bank of America’s APS&E EET Operations team seeks to fill open positions for system administrator(s) to support Collaboration and Production 2nd level Applications Automation Operations. These applications are developed using Java and deployed on Linux systems. We are seeking resumes from experienced professionals in Application support, Autosys, Remedy ITSM, Service Now, Linux, and SQL database skills, who are also able to support and maintain automation scripts.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in application support, including ability to troubleshoot and create SQL queries, troubleshoot Autosys jobs, and troubleshoot Python and PowerShell scripts. The ideal candidate will also have experience with server patching support, system services, performance optimization, and backup and recovery. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot applications developed using JAVA and hosted on Linux-based servers, including web servers, application servers, and database servers
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automation scripts (Python & PowerShell)
  • Install and configure software applications
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Autosys Jobs
  • Create and maintain system documentation
  • Monitor and analyze system logs
  • Work with component support teams (e.g. Data Base, Voice/Data Network, and Storage) to remediate issues
  • Work within the Bank’s ticketing system (currently Remedy) for entering, updating, and closing incident tickets (moving to ServiceNow)
  • Escalate to appropriate teams and vendors
  • Serve in an “On call” rotation
  • Communication to leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in application support
  • Experienced in SQL Database and Automation scripting (Python & PowerShell)
  • Proficient in Incident management, ticketing requirements, and End user support services
  • Ability to describe issues, escalate, and articulate impact to affected users and leadership as needed
  • Experience with common MS tools to assist in data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with Splunk

Job Description:
This job is responsible for being the first point of contact for requests or service failure incidents and maintaining stability for a portfolio of applications. Key responsibilities include performing initial investigations, mitigating impacts through routines and engaging in triages, responding to user requests, and working with technology teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Job expectations include following well defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and partnering with experts to improve service levels by proposing changes to monitoring, alerting, and configuration.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and supports application components and related infrastructure, acts as the first point of contact for users, and responds to alerts regarding potential production incidents
  • Interprets and monitors dashboards, tools, and reports in order to proactively identify and address potential issues prior to production impact, escalating issues to senior team members or subject matter experts as needed
  • Performs environment routing and cycling, implements splash pages, and conducts user ID administration access provisioning/deprovisioning (additions, modifications, deletions) for applications
  • Works with technical partners to generate status updates, create technical detail for awareness communications, such as infrastructure, application and client impact, and component
