Job Responsibilities:
Manage the activities of Production and Inventory Control department to provide optimum support to the JIT (Just-In-Time) manufacturing organization through effective scheduling of customer-driven releases while insuring 100% on-time delivery
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications
Control all levels of inventory to assure JIT supply of quality product to the customer
Schedule production operations to maximum efficiency
Coordinate the activities of direct reports to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks
Manage physical inventories to meet established goals
Translate weekly customer demand into master schedule for stamping and assembly
Coordinate customer volume fluctuations with the manufacturing group, to include customer shutdown schedules
Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering the planning and scheduling of trial builds
Coordinate old program build-outs and new program start-ups
Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
Qualifications:
2-3 years with a degree (or 5-8 years without a degree) supervisory experience
Production scheduling/inventory control experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive
Due to the nature of this position, individual must be available evenings and on weekends when customer requirements warrant.
BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Management
MRP or MRP II (Material Release Point) system implementation experience

The ability to juggle changing customer demands and multiple priorities
Working well under pressure
Efficiently scheduling operations
Ability to listen and communicate effectively with Team Members and customers in either individual or group settings
Ability to access data stored on LAN (Local Area Network) and PC (Personal Computer)
Individual must be good at problem solving and possess a good understanding of automotive customer requirements
Ability to read, write, speak English
Extensive computer ability including Lotus 123 and/or Microsoft Excel
Must have the ability to conduct effective meeting
Education & Technical Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Associate degree in business preferred or equivalent experience in a similar career
APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) preferred
MRP/MRP II; Scheduling
Travel Requirement:
No overnight travel; some local travel occasionally and overtime required
