The University of Washington Information School is recruiting undergraduate students for the INFO 300 A Undergraduate Teaching Assistant position. Qualifications are based on prior course work, skill level, experience, and schedule availability.

 

INFO 300: Research Methods

 

INFO 300 A Lecture: Online Asynchronous 

This position will work a maximum of 15 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities may include some or all the following duties:

  • Conduct lab section meetings
  • Prepare and grade assignments
  • Prepare test questions
  • Proctor and score exams
  • Maintain grading records
  • Prepare and maintain course attendance records
  • Calculate quarter grades
  • Request student assessments for course
  • Attend lectures
  • Hold regular office hours, review material with students
  • Tutor students
  • Manage and respond to course-related e-mail
  • Prepare and maintain webpage for course materials
  • Develop and maintain online communications, discussion sites, etc.
  • Attend instructor/TA meetings
  • Act as liaison between student and professor
  • Prepare handout materials
  • Review literature, place course materials on library reserve
  • Facilitate discussions
  • Hold extra review sessions for exams; obtain space for review sessions
  • Request or acquire necessary equipment

 

 Pay Scale Information: $22.68-$24.27 hourly

  • Per the UW Student Employment policy hourly student employees are limited to a maximum total of 19.5 hours per week during the active academic year. If students have more than one hourly on campus job, the 19.5 maximum hours per week includes all hourly student appointments combined. It is the students’ responsibility to ensure that they do not exceed the maximum number of hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Students must reside in the United States for the duration of the appointment.
  • Undergraduate student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits at the University of Washington Seattle for Summer 2026 or was previously enrolled for atleast 6 credits in Spring 2026.
  • Student must not have graduated.
  • Prior completion of INFO 300 with strong performance or demonstrated proficiency in the course content
  • Must be able to attend lectures
  • Responsible, organized, and able to get tasks done on time
  • Ability to lead breakout discussions and lab sections if needed.
  • Strong interest and ability to work with students having diverse skill levels
