Medicine | Davis Heart and Lung Institute DHLRI-JMThe Ohio State JB Cardiovascular Medicine Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (OSU-JB-CVM-URF) seeks to provide research training opportunities for enrolled OSU undergraduate students and enrolled non-OSU undergraduate students in translational cardiovascular science.
Trainees will spend the summer of 2025 in a lab co-mentored by a clinical and basic science/engineering faculty member experiencing lab skills ranging from entry research up to the participation in translational projects aimed at advancing our understanding or developing new therapeutic/diagnostic strategies for human cardiovascular disease.
Minimum Qualifications
Good academic standing (GPA ≥ 3.0) with an interest in STEM/cardiovascular science.
Must be willing to commit to working 15-28 hours/week for the duration of the program.
Does not hold another fellowship appointment at OSU that would run concurrently with the JB Fellowship Program
Must be 18 years of age or older and actively enrolled or accepted in a higher education program at the commencement of the fellowship.
Requires successful completion of a background check; Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Applications must be submitted via the Qualtrics form by March 24, 2024 at 11:59pm. Each application will be reviewed by 2-3 reviewers (faculty in Cardiology/DHLRI) and will be assigned an impact score, which will then be used to create recommendations for funding. Led by Dr. Mazzaferri, a Selected Research Leadership Team will make final decisions about funding. Applicants will be notified (positive or negative).
