If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer The primary roles within this group including piping & HVAC layout, seismic interaction assessments, internal/external missile assessments, fuel handling and material handling equipment & tooling design, commodity clearance evaluations, flooding evaluations and other hazard protection designs. The position provides broad-ranging experience of advanced nuclear plant designs including interfaces with systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangement.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Work on teams that support the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear component lifting and handling equipment and tooling
- Perform design and analysis of component lifting and handling equipment and tooling with state-of-the-art 3D design and analysis software
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents
- Work with the Westinghouse proprietary digital design architecture (NEXUS) to develop engineering studies, perform analysis and create reports
- Interface with vendors for fabrication of the handling equipment and tooling and with construction on installation of handling equipment and tooling, including on-site support at the vendor and customer sites
- Help prepare reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and/or contract requirements
- Provide engineering support to design, fabrication, and construction organizations including responding requests for information (RFI’s), design changes, and deviations by interfacing with engineers in different departments and global work locations
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-4 years of experience preferred
- A strong motivation to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering licensure (PE)
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Desire and ability to perform both design, analysis, and hands-on fabrication and troubleshooting
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop. High personal investment in your development, both in terms of technical knowledge as well as leadership
- A capability to embrace work in a highly diverse environment, with team members from different cultures and experiences in integrated global teams, respecting and leveraging each professional contribution
- Ability to work effectively both remotely, from home office, as well as from the vendor or customer site to support customer projects globally
