Job Description

Maintains adequate accounting and control for various accounting functions.  Maintains and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.  Prepares financial statements and reports.  Maintains and develops automated accounting systems, controls, and procedures.  Prepares and develops reports for management and/or for regulatory authorities.  Responds to inquiries regarding accounting policies, procedures, and issues from management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
    Delivers clean reconciliations and journals with strong supporting documentation
    Uses core systems effectively; reduces manual work through templates or queries
    Self-reviews work, flags issues early, and follows through to resolution    
    Standardizes recurring analyses and closes gaps through small-scale automation
    Builds draft policy/job aids that improve consistency and onboarding
    Acts as a go-to resource for complex accounts or processes and coaches peers
This role offers the opportunity to expand leadership capabilities over time, including guiding teammates, championing best practices, and potentially stepping into formal people management responsibilities as the department evolves.Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Five to eight years of experience in financial accounting activitiesPreferred Skills/Experience
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Considerable knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulations
- Considerable knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
- CPA or CMA preferredThe role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
